Government

Throughout the history of the united stated, there have been many examples of influence of geographic factors on government action. Two examples are issuance of the Monroe doctrine and the passage of the Homestead Act. There was circumstances that led the united stated government took this action.
Homestead Act was the act to destine people to move to the west so they can build the country. The government had helped the people by giving free land. In exchange, the people would have to develop the land. For example these people had to build houses, dig a well for water and built farms. Many immigrants and settlers run out west to make their land claims. The USA needed to build up western population and through the Homestead Act. This incentive increases the population on the Great Plains. This moves aloud the country to be more productive and wealthier. Many people stay live in the great plains today and remained productive on large farms.

The Monroe doctrine allows the US to intervene in the affairs in Latin America. This policy stopped European colonization in Latin America. This allows the US to pursue its economics interests and influenced. The US used its nave to enforce its policy in the Caribbean region. The US was able to exploited cheap labor.
These policy allowed America to expand economically and gain wealth through expansion.

Government

Isir Farah
When I was new to America and didn’t know any English I went to a place name North Side Learning Center. At first I didn’t even know what those words meant but anyway I start going there. I meet a lot of people that speak my language but of all I was learning English. Students from Syracuse University come there to volunteer to help us with our homework but I use go there to learn English this new language that everyone speaks. I learn a lot there and the place became my home. I made a lot of friends and made great relationships with a lot of different people from different countries and culture. When I needed help I would go there every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The students from Syracuse University were very helpful, respect, and they were carrying. I say this because when I didn’t know English at all and they give me strength and hope that I can learn and do this. I was going through hard time in school and I was just like this is too much also I was going to give up in school. But I meet this a student Syracuse university and she  always use to say to me “I believe in you and she would make me read and keep reading on till I get the words right”. The student was from Korea but she didn’t know to speak the language at one point in her life so she says if I can do and you can. I choice to volunteer at this place because everyday there are new people that are going through the same thing that I am went through when I was new.
I go there on the afternoon every day after school to help them out because when I was there the kids that spooked my language didn’t know English and they couldn’t make me understand some stuff. So now I go there to help them understand what they need help with.  I go there to support them and make them feel like as if they home and they can achieve a lot in this world. Sometimes when I am not there they ask me why didn’t you come I needed your help with this homework and the teacher didn’t understand what I was trying to say. This kids are smart they remind me of me when I was new.  Some of them have the regent to take and they don’t even know the language yet so I study with them. Sometimes I study with them outside of the school. When they pass it is the best feeling because it amazing for someone to pass a regent without knowing the language well.
I know that this time is there life is the hardest out of all because learning a new language is very difficult. But after you learn it you will be greaful for the people who were there for you and have been supporting. I am just greatful that I can help this kids and they can have someone who speaks there language and be comfortable around them. This is a great opportunity for me to get to help these kids and be there for them. Is just an amazing feeling to know that I can help these kids with their homework, English and Regent. These kids are like my own sisters and brothers.
